Aim:

Providing a forum that acts as an intermediary between the public and police to address violence against women.

Features:

  • An MPV may be any woman who is committed to supporting women and girls professionally and willingly, eager to lift her voice against gender-based abuse and assist the police in building a gender-based community free of violence.
  • The MPVs will be selected by the home department of the State / UT concerned, through the district’s police superintendent. In Police Thana, the MPV must report directly to the Circle Inspector.
