Aim: To provide rural women with an platform to approach the government for taking advantage of their entitlements and empowering them through knowledge creation, training and capacity building.

Features:

  • At village level, Mahila Shakti Kendras is being set up to provide one-stop convergent support services to empower rural women with opportunities for skills development, education, digital literacy, wellness, and nutrition.
  • MSK will be introduced with a cost-sharing arrangement between the central government and the Member States at 60:40, except for North Eastern and Special Category States where the cost-sharing ratio is 90:10.
  • The scheme will be introduced in the UTs with 100 per cent national support.
  • All payments made under the scheme have to be in DBT mode through PFMS.
