Key Facts :

The campaign aims to generate nation-wide efforts to strengthen Panchayati Raj, increase social harmony across villages, promote rural development and foster farmers’ welfare and livelihoods of the poor.

Objective:

To strengthen Panchayati Raj in villages and ensure social harmony in villages.

National Skill Development Mission – 15 July 2015

Key Facts :

The Mission will have a three-tiered, high powered decision making structure:

  1. At its apex, the Mission’s Governing Council, chaired by the Prime Minister, will provide overall guidance and policy direction.
  2. The Steering Committee, chaired by Minister in Charge of Skill Development, will review the Mission’s activities in line with the direction set by the Governing Council.
  3. The Mission Directorate, with Secretary, Skill Development as Mission Director, will ensure implementation, coordination and convergence of skilling activities across Central Ministries/Departments and State Governments.

Objective

NSDM will provide a strong institutional framework at the Centre and States for implementation of skilling activities in the country.

Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DUGJY) – 2015

Key Facts :

1. It focuses on feeder separation for rural households and agricultural purpose.

2. Seeks to strengthen the distribution and sub-transmission infrastructure, including metering at all levels in rural areas.

3. It also seeks to strengthen Micro grid and off grid distribution network of rural electrification.

Objective

To provide 24×7 uninterrupted electricity supply to each rural household across the country by 2022.

Total Outlay : The scheme has budgetary outlay of 76,000 crore rupees for implementation of the projects of which Union Government will provide grant of 63,000 crore rupees.
